I'm considering options around 145L in a standard shape (meaning - not the modern wide shape).
I previously owned Tabou Guru 135L (Rocket shape) - and liked it very much, so I naturally lean towards the Rocket 145, but I'm also intrigued by the Patrik Freeride 145L.
Some time ago, I read somewhere in this forum that the Patrik 145 is not as good as 125 and smaller.
I was hoping to hear opinions from people who tried both boards.

Also, the purpose of the board is to focus on gybing, and need a friendly board with the straps slightly in.
With my bulk (100+kg ) , I found 138L board I had just slightly under. A rental of 145L seemed just right, so I'm looking into that size.
I could lose weight too, but that's unlikely over the holidays

Starboard Carve might also be one to consider. They come in those larger sizes. JP Magicride too.

Magic Ride seems to be popular but it's this wide shape which didn't work for me before.

You could have just left Her. No need to break Her nose twice. 
Having said that the Patrick's are fairly easy to repair without any out there graphics. I know the Freerides are built a bit tougher (I think they have some Kevlar in them) however won't have the top end of the freerace. Don't know anything about the Tabou's.

She was a bitch. That guy who bought her from me broke her nose the very next day again 
Haven't broken any noses since, so less worried about repairs

am also a heavyweight over 100 kilos and looking at 145 litre boards for similar reasons - please keep us up to date !!
Rockets are great boards .especially the LTD.carbon .
great in chop and nice gibers.
i have the 2016 105,&115,125. litre 2015.
they have gone wider 2016,2017.
Before me and my mates all sailed the same speed .
this last year since I brought a secound hand 125 ,LTD .
they can't catch me .its the board . 
i just slowly pull away on long runs .....
nice control and light under feet ....

Yes, Rockets are nice boards. Very much agree.
Not sure they've gone wider in 2016. This is on the 145L
They have a wide variety - which didn't suit me.
Ok ...I just notice the 105 and 125 went wider ...
but yeah good measurements for a 146 ....yes I agree I don't like the real wide ones either for chop
l do have a 130 naish at ,84 ,no way I would use it in chop.....
but flat water ,and big sails yes ,they have there place .
the tabou s rockets are more user friendly .and fast .
Tried PaddyMac's Patrik 155L today and was very impressed.
Very quick to plane and pick up speed , easy to turn, feels very safe in the chop in the outer straps , goes up-wind extremely well.
Didn't have to tune up anything. Harness lines, mast foot position, all just a spot-on on the first outing.
The straps ergonomics perfect. Didn't have to search for the rear strap - its' in the perfect location.
Wouldn't go to 145 Patrick. The 155 was perfect for me. exactly what I need.

Wow, nice initial impressions, can't get much better than that! What year 155 or does it even matter, has shape stayed the same?
Don't know - it seems to be a recent model - and they don't update models yearly.
