Hey Seabreeze,

I am looking at getting back into windsurfing as a 40 yr old after a 20 yr layoff. Looking for some advice on a suitable setup. I am in South Oz and will be sailing down at Semaphore. I am quite heavy now coming in at 120 kgs and 6ft 3 so will need something rather bouyant lol. Thanks for any advice.

I've just done exactly that! Bought an 87 quad and it's a bit small, I'm 105kg. A few weeks ago I got a 135 liter board and a 6 meter slalom sail and it's a lot better, my fitness needs work (it's not effortless like I remember) but it's good to be sailing again and I can't wait to get a 110-120 liter wave board to get back into the surf!!!

staussie, talk to freeride sailors your weight and size. There won't be many on here so repeat your question on the general forum, but be very specific that you will be sailing in choppy water. Semaphore is very choppy when it gets over 20 knots, so you'll have to pick your time when sailing there. There's two big freeriders that sail Sems. They are on the water about 1pm and get off about 3-4ish (the period when the seabreeze is building). Good luck
