Have you sailed down there before Russ, or anyone else. Wondering if the taller dunes will affect the wind?

I think Cain & Kurto popped down last summer and had a blast - the angle is s bit more cross shore with a NNW.

Cant be too much more gusty than dribs

Sounds good Russ..

I sailed Dribs nnw last week and was good. So much speed down the line. Just hard work. I checked Goolwa (in front of the carpark) then and it had a bid glassy section from the dunes. The wind direction seemed a similar angle to Day st. The swell size was definetly bigger.

Probably better closer to the mouth though.

Yeah - I can see there is probably a very good reason everyone sails at the end of chapman road and hardly anywhere else on the coast in a nw

Just looking for somewhere a little different with a better wind angle in a nnw.

Might be better off just B&J at the mid till after lunch and see whether it goes more wnw I'm keen to drive down for a look though

Hi Mxmanus - Chapman Road is known as "Day st or Dribs" 1 km or so past Middleton town ship The river mouth is along the end of the beach that you access from Goolwa beach - best in a 4x4 / or possibly experienced driver with AWD SUV - dependant on tide/beach condition - the closer you get to the river mouth the narrower and softer the beach. Big swell and high tide can be treacherous.

NNW is quite offshore at middleton but coast wraps a bit and picks up more wsw swell towards goolwa or at Waitpinga on the other side of Victor Harbor - but no one really sails waits on a regular basis (short board central in small/mediaum swell).
