Hi Guys,
Paul and I are planning a road trip to SA in March 2015. Really looking forward to sailing a new spot and meeting new people.
What I would love some help with is info on track conditions into and across LG to sailing locations... or more specifically is a SV6 commodore wagon going to do the job without bringing some of the track back to the road with it...
All set on fins, time of year and conditions to expect on the water so its the track info and then book the boat... really looking forward to it... did I already say that
Thanks to all for taking time to respond
Should be ok with commie wagon. It's a lot better than it has been on previous years.
Jimbob is your man down there, feed him sausage and bread and a few beers and he'll tell you all you need to know.
We will be down that way at Easter for the robe Easter Classic, you should try to hook up with the sa crew then.
We were there this year at Easter and water levels were low, long walk out to deep enough water
Nothing like early planning hey , I got my falcon wagon through this year, just gotta stay high on the track. But by march you can usually get across the lake to cockies point, much better on the wheel alignment and quicker access to the flatest water around. But if you want to camp the spit is worth the drive. Jimbob is your man when the trip gets closer.
the commie will do the job no worries.
march is at the very end of the season mid to late march is dodgy. jan / feb is the prime time for cockys. late December can be sweet along the spit.
1st march has been clean off the last few years.
i'll be on it this season after being pretty casual last year, have the gear ready and been working on the body and fitness just lost a bit too much weight for speed so might need to carry some kilos, aiming for 44 or bust. most likely bust.
