Welcome to the stoke Greg.

There are a few crew around here.

No doubt Pilchard will contact you once he reads your thread. He probably will be looking for someone new to sail with, must be sick of me by now

Kites and windsurfers hang out together down here.
Don't by to much gear becuase I'll get you onto a kite pretty soon.

That should be enough bait to get a few nibbles.

PS do you live in Conroe?

Welcome aboard Greg,
Unfortunately I gave a heap of my old kit away to a family member who's had a crack at learning last summer but didn't push on much after that, I'll check his status on wether he intends to keep trying or has given up.
It involves a complete 5.6m wave rig but no board.
I keep a spare or two with me incase I have a breakage so you never know.
I have a young family and only sail when it's 20 knots or more once or twice a week wich isn't good early stage learning conditions.
As for you HAAK stay away from him as he has clearly made the right choice of water craft

Thanks for the welcome guys, yea haak i live in conroe the house with the big black trailer,i think half the town know me by it. I have a couple of old naish areo kites in the shed allready. I gave it a bit of a go years ago but got scared and their been in the shed ever sence, allways say i should get them out but never got arround to it. Thanks pilchard that would be good , im getting a 5.8 sail from jimbob who was nice enough to donate it to me . I allso have a young familly and getting time to sail is hard. I just spent 2 weeks at portland and it was good just to be able to drive 5 mins and sale. The gear i have is verry old but it works it's a old 80's windsurfer brand board and old cloth sails, the board is 3.7 long withe a drop in centre board ,im only 65kg so its like a boat nice and stable, the mast just go's into a rectangle slot. i would like convert it to a newer style mast mount and mast extention or get a board to suit. I only paid $80 for the gear i have and have had alot of fun out of it! Will have to catch up with you guys some time and have a chat

Robe should be pretty good as well but I think the swell might drop a bit over night . Should be 20 plus knots there tomorrow.

Bit further south (Nene Valley) had mast high all day today but a tad on shore (Middleton tack, started forming about 1 km off shore). 20 knots.
Missed a good one Pilly

Turning south east tomorrow and staying there for the next 3 days = happy days.

Me thinks ya need a new wind meter Pilly.

ya right , those logo's high waves were a nice but I had better fun inside to day for some reason, might be an old age thing

Whats with all that walking in 18 > 20 knots[}:)]

I cant believe how much the sand has washed away either, down side of having 6m swell I guess.

Think the boys are having a look at Pebbles first thing tomorrow.

When the wave rides are over 400m long and you get a couple it doesn't take long to be way down wind! 5.4m and 84l on and couldn't point to save myself, must be getting FAT
Hope you lads get pebbles early, great spot when it's on. Won't get to the coast until work is satisfied with my efforts. So maybe never
