Does anyone think there will be wind at Sandy Point tomorrow? I think it is wishful thinking, but would really like a walk across the dunes for a Long arm sail.
Did you make the trip Tom??
Looks a bit NE so probably not long arms - but the Gap..
Plenty of swell around I think it would probably be pretty sick today
Yeah let us know, I was seriously thinking of taking the day off and heading down as well, but being NE thought it might be risky and while the gap is good, its never as clean as long arms or in front of the shop.
Had it been the weekend I would of gone for sure.
Zac and I had a great sail. Fully powered up on my 5.4 was so good! Thinking I might do the same next Tuesday/Wednesday
I will be in area Wednesday to Sunday. Let me know. Was the swell good? Did you take your jacks with you ?
Long Arms was great! Below are a few images from the day
wow, cool photo, does anyone know where i can rent a gopro, i want to take some photos just like that
Pulling a lot of faces there Tom
Waves look really clean....I am very jealous...
and as is the norm in Melbourne this season, no f#@!ing decent wind again this weekend and crap weather
I learn't the face pulling from watching Joel! I think it has greatly improved my sailing
good to see you went for a backie :)
i agree long-arms on a warm easterlie in summer is just heaven. Buts lets keep it quiet as sure as hell in the governments wisdom they will probably sell it off and develop it or put a big oil pipe in like the poor guys are dealing with in WA. so shhhhhh
I did go for a few backies but the one in the video is on starboard tack, so not from yesterday!
Unlike Joel I don't have the ability to do any big (or small) moves and am always just glad to get out and back in one piece!
Ah so jealous!!!
Looked really nice
When did Zac come back from the west? is he shredding now?
Good work on the facial expressions Tom. Andrew is right though I will have to teach you the cheek puff! It's really good to get that little bit extra rotation on your loops which it looks like you could have done with there!!!!
Another one that works really well for me is if I close my eyes really really tight in a top turn I can throw heaps more spray in the top turn!
Hey Tom did you see the pics from that last sess we had down there with you?
Tom CK got some sick shots
Here is the whole album:
Joel you look part asian... First asain wave sailor?
Classic pictures Joel!
Zac is certainly going hard, which resulted in some of the best wipe outs I have seen. He is also doing some Phil style forwards...
Little from column A, little from column B
Anyone heading down this Tues and Weds ?
Yep! Sam, Nick and I are going down tomorrow for a quick sail! I need to be back to collect my son at 6pm so we will be leaving SP @ 3ish. Just hope there is some swell....
Epic session today, constant wind all day and good clean waves. Pretty sore now though after 5 hours
thinking of heading down tomorrow, reckon there will still be any wind?
Not sure that you will get much swell as it was fairly small today but so much fun!
Still working on the face expressions but think I am getting better
some serious boom flex there Tom!
so jealous... rickets got to 10knots last night
Its not surprising it flexes with me hanging off it!
NP X9 for you and the bloody clamp head is moving as well! Not sure that it is all flex as I think the lens on the gopro is also adding to it.
those booms have a prebuilt curve into them. doesnt look like flex from that photo.
coming up to gerroa tommy?
Al - Are you kidding! I have only just started to keep my back foot in the straps on a bottom turn, learn't to sail out with out always getting trashed (although I still do have a habit of doing it) and am not ready to look like a complete tool in public at a windsurfing comp!
they have an amateur division! youre busting out aerials now so youd kill it.
