Hey all..

Just bought myself a kite yesterday.. to go with my mountainboard.. Ive been riding mountainboard freestyle for a while now and thought its time I start using a kite, I will be riding freestyle still though..

The guy at Kitepower Geelong sold me a Ozone Octane 2.0m.. where would be the best place to start in the Geelong area? Ive been told 13th beach on low tide with a westerly wind? I have flown a kite before (1.6m) but wasnt really that flash at it.. and didnt go to the spots with the best wind..

Any tips would be great.. Thanks

Hi I have just moved to Canberra, being a seasoned kite surfer this is difficult for me so I am looking in to getting a land board and kite. What gear would suit Canberra wind conditions? Douse anyone know of people or places to kite here or am I just wasting my time?

I look for information on the story of a guy who crossed Australia from north to south there landboardkite.
He was autonomous with his equipment and realized this event a few years ago. I had found this history on the Internet and I do not manage to find his narrative as well as its photos of the crossing. If you could help me to find this information, I would be most grateful to you for this. This kind of adventure interests me a lot. Cross(go through) hundreds of kilometers, travel through parts of the country, which happiness.

Where to buy a deck in Oz?

Where can I buy a new deck in Australia?
We've started using the board with a trainer kite, so a suggestion as to what deck to buy would also be good.

hey just got back to boarding school in towoomba and will miss the rest of the season. and feeling deprived of kiting and need something to do i have a bandit 3 9m harness and everything for kitesurfing but i need advice on landboarding boards, can i use a inflatable kite ect.. and if anyone is from woomba where the best spots to kite are.

anyone ever done stuff on a land kite got any gear or what gear to use i got to boarding school in toowomba and sometimes get some wind on the ovals any advice or usefull stuff to know about land kiteing and the gear or where to get it cheap. i have a 1.5 m trainer but i think thats useless unless its like 40knots

Just wanted your opinion on the following landboarding package from Kitepower:

1/ What do you think of the package, good value for money?

2/ also with an Ozone Flow 3m or 4m, what sort of wind range is associated with?

Hi All,

Been hunting around the area to find some spots to get a decent run out of my Dirtsurfer, is there anyone else out there who uses one of these and knows of any good runs?

I live in the Bateau Bay area, I would take it down to the local beach with my 4m flow, but landkiting seems to upset the average punter, and I would like to stay out of the way of others.

An open day at the Official Opening, planned for the early Spring, when our winds are best, is
now set down.
We're eager to support all forms of Windsports, with Landboarding clearly being within our shere of interest.
As mentioned in the previous post, some racing would seem to be appropriate...unless the social aspect gets in the way!!!

I'm pleased to announce the formation of the North East Windsport Club, formally known as Mokoan Yacht Club.

With the decommisioning of Lake Mokoan and the realisation of the clubs major asset, the club house, Mokoan YC has been renamed NEW and is relocating to a site at the Wangaratta Airport, to be known as the NEW HQ.

As a true Windsport club, we will be continuing our involvement with sailing but we are encouraging the development of all forms of Windsports at NEW. Our initial foray is with Blokarts, but we are keen to see various forms of Windsports catered for at NEW.

The NEW HQ is still in its early development stage, but we do have some facilities on the site [Amenity Block] and a club house will be following soon. Watch for further developments. [and pictures.]

i have 2 flexifoil kiteboards i dont use anymore and 1 3m bkd buster with bar and lines or handles and a 4m raidsail with bar and lines or handles for sale (cheap)if any one is interested. I also have 2 5.5 kitewings for sale only used twice in new condition will put up pictures if any one is interested in the buy and sell section where this post belongs

There are some magic spots around Stockton, ( other side of the river from Newcastle).

The park a Stocko is really good in anything from a N to S. Beach is good in an easterly at low tide and Birubi up at Anna bay is great in easterly and southerly and you get really long runs in an easterly.

Very few landboarders country wide. I have not been on a landboard since I took to the water but sometimes miss the opportunity when the wind is too soft ( most of the time of late!).

I feel for you. I learnt to kite up at Walcha. Don't miss those gusts!

Gday all, bought a 4m 4line bar, got dragged twice along beach (on face, back etc)because i tripped out of binding of board. So tried a 1m imp (not so scary) and got going down the beach at turtle neck speed, worked it out a little. This gave me confidence, then used a 2.4m kite, went faster and worked it out a bit better. Got back to the 4 line and developed some speed, some turns (i can now see how the airtime would work but not yet!). So after only a few real attempts i realize its a bucket load of fun. Start small, get confidence, make sure you can almost fly kite blind folded and have a crack at it. I have never used the wind, never liked it, but now if there is no wind im a little disappointed.knee pads and helmet a must.
