This is giving a fantastic opportunity for you to try different brands on the same day in the same conditions.   <description><![CDATA[Hi Peeps,<br><br>It gives me the greatest pleasure to introduce you to Loris, possibly Australia's oldest race paddler.  Loris has been paddling with us for 2 months now and after trying several boards, she felt the Fanatic 12'6" x 27 3/4" Red Rocket, Narrow carbon was the board for her.  She also chose a the Quickblade Carbon/FG in red 90 paddle.<br><br>At just 67 years young, Loris has begun her training for this years Classic Paddle in Perth, a gruelling 5km sprint race in flat water from Point Walter to the Left Bank in Freo.<br><br>Loris is already paddling more than 5km as her standard training and will be amping it up to get her times faster for the race.  She is also a keen swimmer and cycles as well.   <description><![CDATA[This Sunday May 27,2012 the North Shore Lifeguarding Association will be hosting a fundraising race to help raise money for George Ramos. All the proceeds from the race will be donated to George to help him pay for his medical expenses. He is currently undergoing chemo therapy treatment for stage 4 cancer. <br><br>Since the late 1980's George has been competing in paddleboard races at an elite level. He has consistently placed near the top in almost every race he competed in. He has paddled in the prestigious Molokai to Oahu race every year since its inception, a record 15 times. His training regimen is legendary. A weekend training run for George would be a paddle from Sunset to Haleiwa back to Sunset and then do the whole run over again approximately 30 miles without taking a break or drinking any water!!<br><br>The race will start at Sunset Beach and end at Waimea Bay. The race is open to all paddlers including divisions for SUP, One Man Canoes, traditional prone paddleboards and surfboards...]]></description>

  <description><![CDATA[Hi Peeps,<br><br>On Sunday we had the privilege of doing demo's and Exhibiting Stand Up Paddle to 300+ Paddlers at the Canoeing WA race event in Bayswater.  One of the things we did was to trial a new race format we have been talking about for a while now.<br><br>Pursuit racing - Similar to cycle pursuit, we laid out two inflatable marker buoys just 15m off the shoreline and set them ~40m apart.  One rider starts at each end adjacent to the marker buoy.  Competitors race in a figure 8 fashion around the buoys.  The winner is the paddler who puts the nose of his board ahead of his competitors tail at the beginning of an over take.  A time limit of 4 or 5 minutes can be set for riders of equal fitness and speed in case a clear overtake is not possible.  It is easy to see who is ahead after 5 minutes at the turn buoys.<br><br>This racing is flat out sprinting and requires excellent kick turning ability as well as the ability to start and accelerate quickly, trim the board on the fly and fast paddle c...]]></description>
