Homemade Setup

Hey guys just thought I would share some pic's of my homemade setup.

Works well just need to put some grip on the top side. went for a rip up the road works well, the paddle is a tad to short though, but its a work in progress.

it is easyy and fast enough to go far
i pump the wheels with 5 bars to have enough speed on the road

Hey guys I am after a big stick, doesn't seem that anyone stocks them in Canberra. Was after the bamboo or the carbon if possible.

Hey guys, do too shoulder issues I've sold off my SUP gear through the forum but am also selling my street SUP gear too.

Got a Kahuna Big stick, and a 48" Pohaku surf rider board both basically brand new, awesome condtion like new, no chips or scratches. $300 for both, if your in Perth and your interested flick me a PM.

A train commute for work to/from Brisbane 4 days a week, an iphone to search street Sup stick during the commute, $45 piece of 35mm Tassie oak, 2 old wheels form the kids old scooter, 1 slightly oversize bolt, a piece of old bike tyre inner tube for grip, some epoxy and a few hours........................ all adds up to an out of alignment, heavy, but absolutely perfect 6'4" ugly stick!!

have had a blast on my daughters 38" Globe skatey that was sitting in the garage since the xmas penny skateboard she can't stop riding took over!!

So glad I decided to give street sup a go - the flat sections on the wheel show just how much fun I've been having!!

...yesterday went for a land sup, took a tumble at modest speed & scored a chipped elbow and a one of those open wounds down to the bone (apparently can't be stitched, has to heal from the inside out, can't get it wet) plus sundry gouges in hands, knee, hip and ankle. No SUP for a coupla weeks.

Pads from now on.

[the ER doc asked me how I did it..."You crashed off a what??? a skateboard?? What was your date of birth again??? ]

Hi,

New here, so be gentle

I'm just getting into SUP after a lot of kayaking, and saw articles on street SUP in a couple of mags. Would love to give it a go, so been reading through these forums about wheels, trucks, bearings, boards, etc.

Being low on funds but high on DIY skills (currently building a SUP), I'd be interested in making a street board.

Are plans/dimensions available anywhere, or is it a matter of just basing a shape on the size of boards out there? Really just need a starting point.

Where do those who have made their boards on here get inspiration, designs, etc?

Thanks in advance. Promise I'll post pics of my build when I do it.

Went out yesterday with the new adjustable stick and two other guys we skated about 10km down hastings street to the river mouth along beach (timber broad walk was intresting) and back to gympie trc and everyone agreed the new stick performed well, light & easy to use sits well in your hand.Was a great work out, one of the guys had already done it once so i must be getting soft.Ill give it a go again this morning at 10;30 11;00 if your around come and join in.

No Need for grip tape. It's the clsssic coat of polly and caster sugar. It's pretty sharp when it first dries so you can give it a rub and turn it down a bit with sand paper. It's what I also use on my timber SUP.

Hi guys good flex seems to feel better when riding and if you want the wider trucks (180 )but stil smaller turning put your truck closer together like on the holesome ,loaded tanten or the shorter kahuna boards myself like bigger wheels too (orangatangs or abec 11)

never to old lads. i just recieved my stick two days ago and i love it. only bought it to keep paddling cause everything has been crap water wise. did think the price is ricockulous,but my luck then found them for $8o on the net? i paddle both sides and dont find it hard at all,in fact i can push myself into even harder carves. didnt realise how puffed out you can get on it though. if anyone longboards around charis for a cruise say hi and and hav a push. love to be stoked. danelli from another post, i broke my leg ,cracked my pelvis and smashed my back. lived on cortizone injections for three years. sup is rapidly get me my powers back. to be told no water for you agin, to i cant believe im out here f...... priceless
