Just got back from 4 days of sun and wind filled kiting in Cape Flattery. The second year we've gone and another amazing trip of 20-30 knot winds and flat water. Good food, best toilet view in Aus and great location.

Flat water kiting

Highly recommended for those who are looking for a short trip with lots of kiting.

What are those strange cloth things around your legs? My wetsuit doesn't look like that!

Come on summer!

We don't get them down in Melbourne either. Rumour has it, they are commonly worn with something called thongs but the only thongs I know of in Melbourne at this time of year are thongs thung by people with a lithp.

I have to admit it is frustrating to arrive back to 8 degrees after kiting with air temps of 25 and water temps of 23, but it'll start to make me feel better when we get closer to November and those NQ suckers can't touch the water because of the stingers and the 99% humidity makes their beers go warm after 2 minutes. It also brought us back to reality when we wentto the lagoon in Cairns and realised that all the damn 60 year old tourists insisted on wearing budgie smugglers. I don't think my cornea's will ever recover but I've booked time with the psychiatrist for therapy.

Highly highly recommend this trip...........

If you can only spare a few days and want warm weather, flat water and to be able to kite from sun up to sun down .... this is the trip for you.... you dont have to do a thing but kite, kite and kite and when you come off the water there are cold beers and lunch or dinner waiting.

I arrived back on Tuesday night........ and I just got off the phone and are arranging to go back next month.....

will post up pics over the next few days....

What info? We spent half our time on 9m's (25-30 knots) and half our time on 12m (15-25 knots). If you have a 9m, bring it along.

That one actually shook me up more than it looks like. That sand is super hard and i did see stars.

This is a beauty care of Nat & Deans Camera..... perhaps I should consider kiting in more water. A few butt puckering moments

This trip is 100% fun and the pics only make you jelous - but guess what - Im one of those people who have been their and done that,
whiped out and got big air
bottomed out,
broke a bridle, fixed a bridle,
way over powered, and sometimes underpowered,
But mist of all 3.5 days of just kiting and eating well and good company - what else can you want............Ash

allrighty,

we are back, safe and sound.

I really recommend this trip, I loved every minute of it. I did make do
with my 14m as the wind was holding back a bit during our stay. but nevermind
that, what a fantastic spot.

I aim to come back next year same time, no doubt about it.

Good to hear you all had a great time with Ant and the crew from kitesurfaris!
Ant and a crew also came up to give the Indigenous kids from Hopevale their first kiting lessons a couple of weeks ago. Should be an article in the December issue of Kitemag.
So good trip with a good company.
