Hokua x32 LE are finally available, here in Southern Calif. at clearance prices (around $1650..).
I'm 5'10" 82kegs, intermediate surfer, comfortable in moderate to heavy chop on my Mana 8-10. Catching a lot of small to medium sized mushy shorebreak, sometimes crisp waves .
Am wanting to go to the next level, but still have stability in the chop.
Should I go with the 8'8" or the 9'1".

Any advice from you guys downunder would be appreciated....

I have just purchased the 8'3" was previously riding a 9'5" mana. i'm 93kgs and find the 8'3" pretty good, not to difficult. I reckon at you weight the 8'8" will become easy for you very quickly.

I'm 6'3" 96 kgs had the 9'1" for not very long and already looking at skipping the 8'8" to go straight to an 8'3". Love the board, surfs great, but It already feels heavy, and nearly having my eye poked out by the IMO overly long nose several times paddling back out, can't wait for a smaller X32! At your size and in those conditions go 8'8" and even consider and 8'3". These boards are super stable at 32 inches.

Forget the 9'1". It is a massive board. 8'8" or 8'3" is the go

Hey flow,
I read this your post of yours on another thread: "same with me, the 8.8 X32 is fantastic, demo that one if you can. I'm looking at the 7.10 x 32 to complete the quiver."

What are your stats, surfing ability and how long you been surfing the 8.8?
So, I take it you're keeping the 8.8. What else is in your quiver?
Just curious...

Started surfing at 16, now I'm 51, 85 KG 1 M 86 cm tall

I've had a quiver of Gong sup boards 7.4, 8 ft and 8.8, now I have one, wich is an 8 ft simmons sup

Then there is the Naish 8.8 x 32, wich I surf from april, surfs great and not only in small crapy waves, had some bigger surf in France and Spain and it works great.

Last but not least, Holland can be windy, so there's the sic bullet

picture is the gong sim sup
