18ft licensed sail boat
Boat and trailer licensed until October
Shallow 1.3m draft, I haven't had an issue putting this yacht in and used every boat ramp between Port Kennedy and Cockburn.
Under the horsepower regulation so no need for a skippers ticket, can easily take the mast and rigging off completely to use as a very stable cuddy cabin, due to the 500kg concrete keel.
Can easily sail single handed
Currently rigged to hold a straight course without touching the tiller
Great little sailboat / yacht to learn to sail in.
Previous owner bought her as a project and spent a lot of time fitting a new keel, recarpeting and painting. He did a great job and it's one of the nicest red jackets I have seen around if I say so myself. He used the yacht as a stable river cruiser around Mandurah. I have spent a lot of time and money getting the yacht fully functional, this meant overhauling all the lines, refurbished the sails, new anchor chain for the ground tackle, new battery and solar charger, and having the mast professionally strengthened.
I have taken this yacht out in 30knots winds to Carnac Island for the day and handled it gracefully, running at 8knots before the waves. Equally at home with 5 adults crushing the flat waters around rockingham, great little yacht for fishing and trawling around safety bay.
I bought it last summer to practise keel boat sailing, my wife and I then built up our skills before chartering a 35ft monohull for 8 weeks around the Mediterranean. The yacht served its purpose and its sadly time to go, not without a lot of fun memories.
If you are new to sailing I am happy to go with you your first few times to get you up to speed.
May swap for surfcat with cash my way.
