Surf SUP paddles. New, uncut. 7 left. Handle, shaft & blade are Carbon Kevlar hybrid. (same material as bullet proof vests, racing car panels, aircraft) The design, by a sponsored rider on Sunshine Coast is similar to a Ke Nalu, but with a round bottom (no breach of copyright). Lennox Head & Sunshine Coast.
This material seems to have greater impact resistance than 100% carbon and avoids breakage, while being lighter/same weight.
I think they are great, but that is only my opinion, and I have only been riding a SUP for 4 years, but I think I can vouch for the strength and ease of use.
If you would to take one to test on a few waves here in Lennox, that's fine.
The material manufacturers blurb.
"The reinforcement is Carbon/KEVLAR Hybrid. This First Quality hybrid fabric combines all the advantages of carbon fiber and KEVLAR to deliver a product that boasts a high strength-to-weight ratio and dimensional stability, in addition to a remarkable impact-, abrasion-, and fatigue resistance. 3K carbon makes up the warp and 1500 Denier KEVLAR fibers are woven to make up the fill."
