HQ is in the Cotton Tree Caravan Park - (follow the signs). Say hello, sign-in, get your arm ID, AND. You will. be automatically entered into the luck draw prizes (e.g. Ride Engine Harness, Liquid Force board), . get a goodies bag (Comp' T + Coupons + freebies) - we will provide you a BBQ Lunch each comp day + water all day (U might push Kurtis for a bit of B'fast too!!). If you damage your kite during the competition - Moti Levi Kite Repairs will be on-site for running repairs. NB. We are running an SMS broadcast - get your mobile registered.
4). Competition and Divisions
The competition can run over 1, 2 or 3 days depending on the forecast. We are using a Dingle elimination format (KSA national rules). This means you can lose in the 1st round and be placed into the 2nd round so; you have another chance to make it to the 3rd round and beyond. Past the 3rd round is single elimination to the finals.
All divisions except the amateur are straight forward to understand. So our effort here is defining "amateurs". Our intention is to encourage anyone to push their comfort zone (a little!) and have a go. Why? We want you to participate, - for the thrill - to experience the discipline - to surprise yourself. We have a great rescue boat and it is there to be used (A big thanks to Ocean Addicts).
i) Amateur: Open to men and women of all ages with basic kite skills. You can stay upwind, transition, do small jumps, you may be able to do 1,2 or even 3 tricks - probably not consistently. If you crash - you can sort it and get going again, are just happy to have a crack and be in the mix - then this division is for you. NB - if you are too polished the judges will mark you down - it is amateur.
ii) Juniors: Under 18 (at 4/12/2017), moved on from amateur anything you can do we will judge. So, you probably have a routine, you can do hooked unhooked - it's your call.
iii) Womens: Open for all ages and skill levels.
iv) Open Mens: 18-34 YO and consists more on a higher level of riding, unhooked and hooked in tricks will be scored in this division.
v) Masters: 35 - 85(!!) As per Open division.
5). Events for the Non-Competitor - (with prizes).
i) Have-A-Go trainer kite lessons for the public. You will need to register (onsite or through this link -(docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf-2oxdM0qOE4YZTE3Y3nlRt0ijqGfGcDbdXqKj06EXeHPyqw/viewform?usp=sf_link). This zone, wind permitting will be in-action for 3+ hours each competition day. Everyone who registers goes into the draw for an OZONE trainer kite - How good is that?
