The event is suited to novice and experienced paddleboarders, with the opportunity to compete in a fun environment that requires competitors to perform tricks aligned with longboard surfing criteria.
Please note that The Wedge Island Shaka also caters for novices. So if you can't do a lot on a wave, that's fine. Come and get wet, have fun and learn the art of longboard paddleboarding in a fun environment.
Note: Wedge Island is a unique location and the local community are very passionate about the area. Please respect local signage and rules and remember to take all your rubbish home. Please leave your dogs at home as they are not permitted on the beach if we have to relocate the competition to the northern beaches. (There is a $200 on the spot fine for dogs north of the settlement)
All competition location will require 4WD access so team up with someone with a 4x4
Competitors will be asked to judge heats to assist with the running of the competition (assistance will be provided if you are new to the job)

Come join in the fun of the Shaka Longboard SUP Competition and get surfing tips from our state champions in a great environment. Perfect for all levels - newcomers most welcome!
