So I have a deal with my 11yo son that if he makes a forward I'll pay him $100. I'm ok with bribing children to do dangerous things so we will see how it ends. he hasn't made a carve gybe yet.

today in 10-15 knots we started the journey of moving hands down the boom and throwing the rig forward around the nose of the board while dredging.

He may never learn to loop but in the meantime today was a lot of fun. These light winds we are having of late are being put to good use.

Oh yeah my back hurts I was doing them with him.

When I was younger (about 50 years ago) I was complaining to my dad about having to wear a lifejacket in the Sabot when I went sailing.

He just said that when I could swim from Taylors Point to Towlers Bay (on Pittwater NSW) I wouldn't have to wear the lifejacket. At the time I thought "Yeah,I can do that"...

I never have!
