Ive been looking for a used JL Striker without much luck. Absolutely love the feel of this board so hoping someone may know an alternate board that is very similar
Cheers

Yes very popular/ rare great boards, new stock here soon I believe.
There's a reason there's none for sale second hand
I have the 2017 8'5 and I doubt I'll ever sell it. Apart from a few minor dings it's perfect & I ride it a lot.
It is the best all rounder going in my humble opinion.

Yes,I've been chasing an 8.5 for years, sunova tried to copy the striker with the Steeze...... yeh -nah ! Nice board but no striker ! The Destroyer is next level as well, especially At 10 ft!!!
The Striker looks like a good shape - and clearly has many fans, but what's goin on with the deck grip?!? It looks so naff! Just a really odd looking design and ugly as.
Dunno- maybe someone could tap Jimmy on the shoulder and quietly mention it might be time to refresh the grip design on the Striker?
Having said that, i reckon the Destroyer looks fully sick. and is definitely on my next board list.

The striker used to have a full back deck pad which looked much better...
With no one ever getting tired of the striker and selling them only confirms how good of a board they really are. Just cant talk the finance manager into another board purchase. Apparently you only need one board :)
Thats why im trying to find a similar board i might be able to pick up second hand

That line is like a Covid testing station !

My couch says the opposite, Hoppo...it has an imprint of my chastised arse embedded in it from following that approach one time...many many years ago, and still brought up from time to time!

Where are you, SupBandit and what length board are you chasing? I agree that the Sunova Steeze, while having its differences, is one of the closest matches. But they too are rare...
MangoDingo! How dare you! I don't mind the deck grip. But then I am in love and love is blind (Here's my 8'11). I like that Jimmy knows we want grip on the nose of the board. I do also really like the subtle Sunova appoach, but they should come with a free pack of hexa traction for the bit they missed.

Looking for a 9'5 or 10ft for those smaller days...

Ha! Greeney! Geez, I dunno man. It looks like they had some left over grip on the floor of the shaping room and thought, " let's just fill in the gaps where it's empty."
And anyway, if you want to get yr toes on the nose - get thee to the local and hand over some scheckles for a block of Mrs Palmers!
Or get yrself a Steeze
Or a 9'2 Destroyer

Now that you've said it, I can't unsee it.
Would love a Steeze and a Destroyer and and ...
It is amazing to think how many great Jimmy boards and Sunovas must be out there and yet relatively few come back on the used market. That's testament to a good quality build and good design, I guess.
SupBandit: I reckon once you get up to the 10ft mark, a good longboard shape like a Smik Style Lord or Sunova Style could also maybe come into the equation. Again, not the same as the Striker, but with a certain overlapping appeal.

Also ask the minister of finance about the economics of single use status symbol shoes n dresses.. versus .. multi use health n fitness equipment chuck in the depreciation n resale disparity for a giggle

hi SupBandit, I've surfed the 9'5" and owned the 8'11" & 8'5" IMO the 8'5" surfs just as well, if not better than the bigger models in tiny waves, unless you are a fat bastard
For an all-round longboard stlye board would anyone have any other suggestions?
Jimmy Lewis Destroyer 10 ft ,my only board at the moment! does it all !

As good as that board is, I wouldn't call it an 'all rounder' at 10" x 29" x 125L.

Just curious Hoppo, why are those numbers not in the all rounder category? Iength /width/ or volume ?

What is usually considered to be an all rounder is mal shape, 10'- 10'6" long x 30"-31" wide and approx 160L.
So basically anybody in the family can stand on it, be good to paddle on flat water and in small surf and perhaps paddle about with your dog on the front.

Fair call Hoppo ,I get it now ! How has summer been in my old stomping ground?
I reckon there has been 2 reasonable surf days in 2 months!! A proper dry spell! Howling E/SE winds most days.
Very busy also, probably more busy than i've ever seen it. I guess covid has stopped interstate travel (and o/s) so the punters all congregate on the surfcoast.
I'm just hanging for autumn
