It's time for a road trip, Melbourne to Noosa via Terrigal and Byron Bay. A week of surfing, no wife no shopping, no kids just me! I would prefer my wife was with me but COVID and floods dampened her spirit to be adventurous.
Geez - you live on a steep road!
Have fun on your trip! (Don't forget a spare paddle - I just broke mine )
all about the winds , plenty of good waves in your trip. find where its offshore and thats a bonus to start with
I just drove back to Sydney from Geelong yesterday (Sunday). I am knackered. Melbourne - Noosa is a a long road. Bring on the self driving cars. Hope you get good waves.
Hey Dave, sounds like an awesome trip mate. I have just returned from Central Coast today got one cheeky surf in but water quality is pretty average at the moment due to sewerage in the water from floods. Local council said beaches shut till at least Tuesday but still a few out. Hope it all clears up for you by the time you get there! Magic spot
Terrigal to Tweed Heads today, no time to stop for a surf it's all about getting to Noosa and I guessed the water quality would be crap because of the floods. Heard on the radio that cows are washing up on the beach in some areas. Non stop run to Noosa tomorrow to avoid being locked down when I get home after Easter.
Not looking good now to get to Noosa, I can drive there but if the Vic Gov changes it's restrictions from Brisbane to all of QLD I will have to isolate for 2 weeks even if I have already left. NOT HAPPY! Agent refuses to refund or postpone because it is a soft border closure, if it becomes a hard closure they will but by then I'm f###ed and can't work.
jus started a new job too and that could be at risk if i gamble and loose.
Turn around. Head back to Byron. Stop at The Farm. Go to the Beach hotel tonight . Suffolk Park bakery tomorrow . Then straight back to Vic to lock them down for another six months
Ok I'm joking. Come Surf Lennox reef/beaches with us . Just not The Point. It is sacrosanct / shortboarders only. And rightly so
there's occasional times when a SUP would be great out there but that line should never be crossed >>
Thanks guys I will endeavour to get there to both spots, got one surf in off Tweed on the 10fter so I at least get the warm water once before I go tomorrow.
What a shame David, I'm in Newy, been here a week and going home after Easter and not a minute before.
Thanks for the heads up stehar, nice wave, off shore breeze got way up which made it nearly impossible to get the sup onto a wave being 10ft 33 wide, had fun for a bit.
Well my trip was stuffed up and I'm back home but at least the surf was good today at Flinders and it's hot and sunny, no rain unlike QLD so maybe it has worked out ok?? Nuh I am just trying to feel better
Hi Dave, is that Big Left?
It is. Good fun that day at low tide.
Any session has the awesome effect of making us forget all the times we come up empty...
good on you Dave, for staying positive through all the government interjection into our daily lives.
I think it's fair to say covid has had a pretty fair interjection in all our lives as well.
stay safe

A good fun surf fixes many an ailment.
