Vic anglers reminded to have a say in East Gippsland Fishery

Recreational anglers are still being encouraged to have a say in the development of the East Gippsland Fishery Management Plan.

The plan is looking at fisheries in rivers such as the Mitchell, Nicholson and Tambo and inlets like the Sydenham and Marlo. Freshwater fisheries in rivers like the Wonnangatta, Dargo and Timbarra are also included. It does not include the Mallacoota Inlet, Lake Tyres or Gippsland Lakes.

Public meetings and surveys recently gathered important information on recreational fishing values in the region and Fisheries are now looking to gain a better understanding of the key issues and any suggestions which should be considered in preparing the new management plan.

Input of recreational fishers and other stakeholders is critical to developing effective Management Plans.

All information regarding this consultation period and the Management Plan can be found on the DPI website.
