Tried kiting with just one leg?
A Story of Passion and Commitment from a Young Kiteboarder in Portugal
Tiago Miguel Neves (POR), a 29 year-old kiteboarder from Portugal, gives us all a good lesson in courage and determination.
In May of 2007, Neves lost his lower left leg due to a serious motorbike accident. Being a great athlete, Neves was an addict of extreme sports. Snowboarding, bodyboarding, kitesurfing, and motocross were just a few of the sports that Neves spent his time pursuing.
In the hospital, Neves received the news that they would have to amputate his left leg from the knee down. Though devastating news, together with his own personal strength and determination, and with the help of friends and family, he is now back doing what he loves!
Less than one year after that hospital visit, Neves uses a prosthetic to continue to excel at all of the sports that he loves. The photo of him on the left is from a recent day at one of his local spots.
He is a fantastic example of the heart and determination of the human spirit.
Thanks for sharing your story Tiago! Keep Ripping!
