In calibrating the average do you include all the deaduns and Darwin Award laureates? And is driving skill a measure of safe driving or car handling? Is there some objective test?
Mark is probably the only person in the country, perhaps the world, that would admit to being a bad driver. Bad sailor, bad looking, bad in bed even we'll all admit to or joke about at the drop of a hat, but never it seems will we even contemplate being a bad driver, less than average. Everybody considers themselves a better than average driver.
How bout those that consider themselves just average. Perhaps one explanation for those that are above average but consider themselves not as good is that the goals shift- you do anything well and you look to those that are better. Nor is it a bad thing, if you can't critisize yourself you will never get better. Pity that can't be said for the majority of the population.
Im a good driver.........unless its windy and there isnt much daylight left. Then everyone should get the f@ck out of my way, your not even safe on the footpath.
I admit im below average. I usually have at least one moment per drive where i brake real late, clip a kerb or wander out of lane. When my wife is in the car she often say's is that the near miss can i relax now i don't speed or cut people up which is better than some, just lack concentration seems to be my issue
