Well, we are all probably going to get Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). If it misses you this flu season, it'll probably get you the next time around. Hopefully in the near future, a vaccine is produced to help combat the prickly item. For some of us in good health, it probably won't even be an issue, just like any other FLU (except for Man Flu). But for the elderly, very young and other people with pre-existing medical conditions, urgent medical attention may be required. The same thing that happens with the existing FLU conditions.

The only escape may be a rocket to outer space or live by yourself in your underground Bunker (with all your toilet paper) until you die of natural causes.

Human Coronavirus Types Coronaviruses are named for the crown-like spikes on their surface. There are four main sub-groupings of coronaviruses, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Human coronaviruses were first identified in the mid-1960s. The seven coronaviruses that can infect people are:

Common human coronaviruses
229E (alpha coronavirus)
NL63 (alpha coronavirus)
OC43 (beta coronavirus)
HKU1 (beta coronavirus)

Other human coronaviruses
MERS-CoV (the beta coronavirus that causes Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS)
SARS-CoV (the beta coronavirus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS)
SARS-CoV-2 (the novel coronavirus that causes coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19)

People around the world commonly get infected with human coronaviruses 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1. Sometimes coronaviruses that infect animals can evolve and make people sick and become a new human coronavirus. Three recent examples of this are 2019-nCoV, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV.

I had Coopersvirus this morning. Not good. I was at a regatta and had to self-isolate. I also suspect that there was some of the old Wineflu involved.

will it get blamed on a kronavirus?

This, in a nutshell, is why we are all gonna get it.
Reading about everyone's favourite celebrity, Richard Wilkins, and how he has the virus...

"A Nine spokeswoman said people who had been in contact with Wilkins before Thursday would be tested if they showed any symptoms."

Richard Wilkins has tested positive to COVID-19.

Richard is not showing any symptoms of the virus and has been self-isolating, on his own at home, since Thursday last week," she said.
"Since he is still without symptoms the authorities advise that he has not knowingly put others at risk, although anyone he has been in contact with prior to Thursday afternoon has been notified and will be tested if they show any symptoms of the virus."

There is so much wrong with what is going on here.
He didn't have symptoms, so why is he tested and people he came into contact with will only be tested if they show symptoms?
Meanwhile, these asymptomatic people who had contact with him are potentially spreading the virus far and wide.

This is just one example of what is happening Australia wide.

Contact tracing...
Defined as anyone with 2m for greater that 15min.

Wiko interviewed Rita?? (Tom Hanks wife) two days prior.

He didn't have symptoms though.
So why test him if they aren't going to test people who would have been in contact with him, for the prescribed risk profile time if they don't show symptoms?
There would have been people in contact with him long enough.
But they will only be tested if they show symptoms.

Classic, shutting the gate after the horse has bolted, policy.

He was in contact with Tom Hank's wife, so he got himself tested, and what do you know, he had it.

..but your point still stands that anyone could have it, because they also don't have symptoms, and most won't be able to get tested or want to.

After reading an article today, I think we are all going to get it at some point, because it will just do laps around the world. Think about a country with a huge population and poor medical services, and you can't stop it there.

We are sort of lucky that China is able to implement total control, and it still can't be contained quickly enough.

My brother has for the last two weeks been sick with fever, persistent cough and shortness of breath. He went to the doctor who said he didn't have it because he did not have a contact history with someone who may have come from overseas or who were confirmed as having it. He works in an industry that has a very high staff count of people from Asia and explained this his doctor but the answer was still no. His employer has said he can only return to work if he is cleared of Corona so he went to the hospital and they said the same thing that he will not have it and will not test. He is now at home still with symptoms but not tested but self quarantined.
I think the real numbers are not really know as they are concentrating on direct contact for testing and not community transmission due to the lack of testing available.
Look it is what it is and the worst is still to come.

I'm always astounded by the sheer stupidity of some doctors and other medical staff, some have no common sense at all.

Qualifications doesn't necessarily equal intelligence.

You can finish at the bottom of your class and still be a doctor...

Classic! All the symptoms they tell people to be aware of, but they won't test for it.

And this is why Australia is doing such a great job at containing the virus!
You can't have cases if you aren't testing for it!

Hillsong church held their "Colour" conference for women over the last weekend in Sydney. One of my kids knows a family that went to it, and they are all feeling sick. There would have been way over 500, probably 1,000s in attendance. Why was this not cancelled? It could be a repeat of the seeding of coronavirus in South Korea where most of the infections can be traced back to a megachurch there. Get ready to see an even greater spike in the case count in Sydney over the next week.

I wonder if the doctors agree or are constrained by policy. That said i have met enough that were educated idiots that i wouldnt assume well thought out answers.

I am worried after i read something on facebook, comparing pandemics of the past and implying that this will be less again.

Are there so many idiots in the world that think they will magically get lucky? Fwits!

No wonder people are not allowed to make their own decisions about vaccines... they are idiots!

THIS is my position, 10 days ago I got a sore throat, cough and head ache, all the advice I could read said I had a cold, no problem soldier on. Since then the advice has changed somewhat but still testing is not available unless you have had (could you just lie?) contact with a known case or have been overseas.

In the mean time I got as sick as I have ever been with the flu and now am getting better but don't know if I've had Covid19, I hope so, I think?

Point is like me many will get something but it won't make the charts, I've also noticed they say there are x amount of new cases in XYZ state but don't say where in the state, ie what town.

kk I see where your coming from but maybe 'they' could tell you how the hell are you supposed to know if you have had "contact with a known case" or not? We haven't yet reached the stage where those afflicted, or possibly afflicted have to wear a big sign around their neck or display an easily recognisable form of identification on their person. I know someone who is displaying the symptoms yet is in denial and cant be bothered even approaching a medico or getting tested, suffice to say I do try to keep a 'safe' distance (whatever that's supposed to mean) between us.

This **** is for real, the virus is not going to just go away, you cant act for anyone else you can just do your best to look after yourself and those close to you.
