For what its worth, there is a freeware program similar to ghost to do image backups. I just can't remember what its called...
Time machine. Comes free with Mac OS X 10.5 and higher. The most easy to use, simple to set up (about as close to 1 click as you can get!) and completely foolproof backup system ever.
Mine's set up to back up every hour, I can restore any file to whatever version I want, at any time. Got to say, the mac upgrade / restore process is totally awesome -- when you upgrade (even to a new computer!) it asks you if you want to keep your old data, say "Yes" and everything's there. Programs, pictures, mail messages, internet bookmarks, super secret UNIX programs tucked away in the depths of hidden folders, the works. If you're upgrading to a new computer, upgrading the OS, or restoring from a backup, it doesn't make a difference.

That said, Open Office on the Mac sucks... I tried it but it just didn't have that lickable goodness that native programs have. I'll stick to my crusty Office 2003 until I'm forced to upgrade.
