This scammer thought he was on a home run when an ABC broadcaster rang him back about mistakes with his tax. This Anderson bastard went on his usual scammer's cool and calm manner until he was told that he was on the national broadcast, and was being recorded. He turned nasty.

What I still having difficulties understanding is that now they have the scammer's phone contact, surely he could be tracked down? Where are ASIS, ASIO. AFP ?

You think that they should be there with sirens, flashing lights and a camera crew? The scammer should have called ACA

I no longer have landline, hence no more nuisance calls. My most memorable one was a scammer wanting to fix my computer problems. Somehow he knew exactly what is wrong with it even never ever went near it. Same mob with an Indian accent.

So I pretended I know f-all about computers, even though I actually make a living out of dealing with computer software. I told him that I have EXACTLY the problems he described for a very long time. And I thank you for bringing it to my attention, and I appreciate very much what he was trying to help me. So on and on we went. I pretended I couldn't even use the mouse, and not sure with is the left or right button, as I believe it depended on which side of the keyboard it was being situated. And I f him around, frustrated the living daylights out of him by pretending to be the dumbest computer user ever.

I fished him for some 20 minutes, and I could feel he was believing I was unbelievably stupid. Then I dumped on him. I told him that I knew exactly what he is trying to do, ie. to scam.

Then another time I pretended I have much sympathy for him being a scammer in this days of high unemployment. I pretended to be an owner of a large IT company and offered him a job. I asked him to leave his contact details so that we can talk in private. He took it...hook, line and sinker. That felt very good indeed.

Had a guy call last year claiming to be from the tax department and that they were about to arrest me on tax evasion. He had a very strong accent and poor English coupled with incorrect references to our legal system it was an obvious scam. He actually left a message on the home phone.

The funny thing was that I actually had an ongoing dispute with the tax ofive at the time. My wife absolutely panicked when she played the message and then got really pissed when I just laughed. She never did dee the funny side.
