Hi, I don't have any Spotz foils myself but lots of guys did ride Spotz over here in 2013-2014. I would recommend posting in"Perth Kite foiling" Facebook group - over 700 members - I am sure someone will have one.

Well its been an interesting ride (as a complete beginner at 55) !! Spots 2 Freerace wing / foil update!
I fixed the freerace front wing myself with stainless threaded rod (diagonoly drilled) and epoxy - and its held up well :-)
After 4 sessions Ive finally got past the 'fark it' moments and actually got to experience the "silience of the foils" moment - but only for just a moment but baby steps is all good!!
But - get this - and im not sure what message to share here but on my second last run tonight befor packing it in ( was smiling ear to ear) I hit a floating log or maybe a big carp ? and big click (thats the sound it made) and the foil was wiped clean off the board - seem it stripped out the brass pluggs in the head of the mast ( and luckily no damage that Ive found so far to the Spotz board - and that surprised me!)
But now my Spotz 2 carbon foil is sitting on the bottom of the lake about 40 ' down and who knows the exact location !!
Gotta laugh I guess - ****e happens and maybe the lake level will drop and maybe Ill find the foil before someone else - maybe not

I used to get a bit upset when I smashed a fin or 2 on a surf board - this experience has taken it to a completely higher level !!

So - it seems I no longer need a Spotz 2 free race front wing ..... I just need a new foil inc mast etc with a Deep tuttle mounting system!!

Bugger hey!!

Damn. Sorry for your loss.

I guess one advantage of a plate system, especially with bolts right through a timber board with big washers on top, is that it will take ridiculous force to separate foil from board. One advantage of foiling strapless is that in the event of a collision, you just fly forward while the board stops with minimal load, rather than having your weight still pulling forward on the board against the log, carp, etc ...

Happily it's a buyers' market on used foiling gear - don't be too attached to your tuttle-board, there may be well-priced packages out there to suit your needs.
