i am probably getting a new cabrinha caliber (127cm) in september, because currently my 08 custom 128cm is too heavy and big for me. i was also thinking on getting a 08 underground flx 124cm because that is much smaller and lighter.

has anyone ridden the cabrinha caliber or 08 underground flx and what would anyone reccomend these boards or any onther boardds, for freestyle and boosting/kiteloops, and also which are light, strong and small smaller than 128cm

thanks

ewan

Underground pads and straps are fan-frickin-tastic too.

Hey ewan, why don't you get cardboards to make you a custom size board for your age. Then you can have the footstrap placement exactly where you want it.

Have you tried the 128 Liquid Force Recoil Comp? It's very light (lighter than the underground)

Hey Ewan,

The Airush 2009 FS is on it's way. Looks like it is going to be a totally sick board. A 2 year warranty, built tough for wild freestyle and kiteloops. 132 x 39 and the stiffest flex pattern of all the Airush boards.

I reckon it would be worth at least considering if you ride hard.

Good winds,

Have a look at www.cardboarding.com

Design your own board. If you need it smaller and lighter, Im sure Dan can make you a mini model with your favourite graphic.

129 lunacy is pretty much unbreakable, however may be slightly big for someone 45kg

dude if u want to ride bindings you should get a board a couple cm bigger then what u normally would ride, you wont regret it as youl get ALOT more pop out of it.. for example im 72kg atm and i used to ride 128 - 132 boards with straps.. wen i got my boots i had a 135x40 and now im getting a 136x42 for this season.

if you get LF kite bindings like escalades (i recomend these) or unions they are drilled for kite inserts and will fit most kite boards, if they dont its very easy to just re drill the plate of the binding. unions are great if you want something a bit softer so you can tweak ur grabs n stuff out, fairly solid hold n good feel to them.. escalades offer more support and are a bit stiffer, i find these better as you dont come out as easily and you feel more locked in.

if you want to get boots either keep your 08 custom you will like it or get the 127 caliber or maybe even the LF Recoil 127x38 or recoil comp 128x38.. boots you want a bit of a bigger board because u can step the rail in deeper and pretty much load up alot more tension and get alot better pop out of the board thanks to the weight of the boots and the extra control you get.

the recoil + union set up is a really good introductory step into the world of bindings, its flattish rocker compared to boot boards makes it so its still fast and the same feeling of riding as your used to with straps and the unions arent full on bindings soo you can ease into riding bindings and when your comfortable change up to escalades.. maybe jump straight into escalades but the recoil is a good go for bindings..

havnt ridden the caliber but looking at it it looks like it would go good with bindings.

ps. how much do you actually weigh?

thanks charl

a 127-126 board for me would be the same as a 136 board for you as i weigh about 52kgs. i am about 163cm tall aswell so i think a 127 would be great. where do you get your bindings from or is there anywhere i can get them really cheep. i have to choose from the selection of boards at SHQ, which are, Cabrinha, Underground, Slingshot, North and Naish boards, so i think the caliber would be the best board, but for bindings i think the Liquid force retailer lives very near by to me.

thanks

just to mention i dont want to permenantly ride bindings, just for seabreezes, because when it gets over 22knots i want to boost and kiteloop and straps would be prefered for that.

dude even in straps landing loops n boosts on bigger boards isnt much different. just dont kiteloop in boots or ul end up like me with torn ligaments n a ****ed leg taking you out for a good 2 - 3 months

just go talk to the LF dealer down your ways, im sure hel hook u up with a reasonable price, the escalades are more expensive but i honestly think the price diff is worth it... if they are pricey talk to padi and see what he has to say or even try going direct through ML water sports, just ask around and see what you can get. look in for sale section on seabreeze.. or if you have a pair of wake bindings lying around just get a shop to re drill the plate to make it fit your board... i think the cab or maybe the UG would be the best choices for boards, id go cab over UG for bindings though.
