So its a 3 year old board, had salt buildup (means it probably hadn't been washed much) and was stored in a shed that's 35C?? for 3 years?
Probably why there was delam around the fins to start with.
Man...your lucky the thing didn't turn into a pile of goo.

However it still definitely doesn't excuse why North didn't contact your shaper/repairer.

Do people expect everything for free that lasts forever?

Red thumb away.

Its friday its time for a kite and beer or both.

Man this is a big read.
It might even make NEWS.com or ABC news if its keeps going.

Again i understand that the fins look rubbish, but how or why did you decide to sand the board back to expose the poor workmanship?
Did it show signs of the damage or did it grow?
I have a whip, which i think is the same as yours. (the short pointy nose, diamond tail one right?)
I bought mine 3 or 4 years ago? and its sweet.

I did however buy a kontact of the same year and dinged it, without fixing it properly and the bamboo filled with water and blistered up.
I just cut if off and bogged it and sweet.

I understand your pain tho.
These things are expensive and we should get what we pay for.

Then they bring on the poor Indian or chinky who made the board as a grand finale

That's entertainment

Salt built up is coming from the evaporation of the water that sucked into the core not the fact that it was not washed...

If it was normal for a board to delam at 35 degrees there would be no surfboard left in WA. I am not expecting everybody to agree with me (especially some of the brand pimps who have interest in keeping this quiet).

Mind that the issue was hidden intentionally and this is what I am bringing up here. As some already pointed out, with a decent quality control in place, this board shouldn't have left the workshop.

So far they haven't commented on the photos so there no will to get to the bottom of the problem from a manufacturing point of you. If they don't admit, it is likely that nothing has been improved in the last 3 years unlike other people said in an earlier post.

Now if this is acceptable for you and you are happy with those dodgy values, keep buying North, it is your money mot mine.

Sorry crew.

This has gone on a lot longer than it really should, and as some have mentioned has all the ingredients of a soap opera.

We have a policy that arguments like this are nipped in the bud, as everybody gets hurt.

From the forum policy:

Complaints about a business/associations

<div class="help1">
When this occurs, the poster is usually quite fired up and emotional. Sometimes the customer is out to cause as much damage as possible to the business with the mission that they are "fully justified" (their words) and "simply stating facts" (their words) about the business/association. This may be the case .. or not. There are many sides to any story.

The point is that the Seabreeze forums are not the appropriate place to resolve the issue.

Please go to the appropriate legal/government authority and do it there. Choose not to, and end up in hot water. As soon as you flame a business, you'll usually get supporters of the business come out in defence and question your behaviour and motives. People interested in the discussion will seek more information from you.

It soon descends into an argument containing many and varied versions of the truth and everybody goes home unhappy. It has never ended well for anybody. The business is damaged, the poster now has a stigma in the forum community (and now can't deal with many shops because the shops know what will happen if they cross this customer - their business will get dragged through the mud.)

A special note: This applies (and has been applied) to any business, not just businesses that sponsor the site.

Thanks everyone.
