Designed new shape through Covid winter in Melbourne Unfortunately was not able to test it in INDO waves trip this year 5'5" x 18.5" x 2 1/8" x 24.7 Lts we have combined our Wave B rocker and outline with our Shredder MK4 planning hull ( double con channel through the center with con ever side) thin rails with (grab step rails) our bat wing tail with flyers and this time a swallow Also went back to old school with PU blank with 1/4" white wood stringer / New High Tensile Aus cloth and polyester resin Be interesting to see how deck holds up ? Have used it bay chop so far And for me at 80kg I normally prefer 20 to 22 Lt boards But due to reduced tail area and sharp edges ( swallow second flyers) it was very sharp in the turns and was able to sink tail and rails for up wind and turns Traveled well through the chop and got up planning well with planning hull . Another rider in 90 kg tried and also loved the turns ( he normally on pro Fone Carbon ) But he did say it seem less volume which was funny due to his board was less in high 21 Lts But I no from my Vac Carbon boards 2 kg there is definitely a difference in light weight boards Used with Medium Quobba's and power house Ocean Rodeo Aluula 6m kite Which I am loving

interesting you re going back to poly. Epoxy on PU is always a great combination. I am heading in that direction myself after EPS issues

Love your work smook.
you ever get delamination after heavy use with the EPS? I hate the way it drinks up water.
you ever experience delam with epoxy on PU?

Thanks Billy Back in 2011 we had couple of boards delam due to Blooming ( were you do not sand between epoxy coats and will not bond ) We still sand but the Epoxy Acrylic using now not so critical Never had delam from PU blank we try to make deck strong / specially at front foot .Ditto on EPS we stop using EPS back in 2012 for same reason we only use when require super light and Vac bag All best Bro It's F!! Not able to hit INDO this year

Nice looking boards whats the rough retail on something like that.
What benefits does the double concave achieve in the very centre of the boards. Duotone are doing this also. The older designs had the concaves further to the outside.
And a more spread out concave.?

After the last post I looked at the smook website and found the details and prices there. Competitive with most other brands.
Will be looking forward to feed back on the new quad concave shape.

Hi dkeating We have had this design for a while and refined it over the years On the website we did 6 part blog on the changes I and other riders have found the Shredder MK4 planning hull very stable through the chop and also on switch footing The board is more refined and more for wave riding with rocker / reduced tail area / thin rails/ low volume but also dose very nicely in freestyle .Yellow /Carbon board is for local junior which requested light and strong ,so deck has 1 layer Double bias carbon and 2 x layers of high tensile clear and carbon foot patches But it still only 2.1 kg I also ride similar Vac bag 5'2 "Shredder at 2kg .The center concave channel flattened out at tail and clear from out side fins This allows the water to flow passed the fins with out disturbances This is why Quobba fins work well on our boards If in Melbourne welcome to demo
