Anyone have local knowledge on entry into Bermagui. In particular I draw 2.7m and would be coming in Tuesday possibly with Northerly swell. I am looking to sit out the late week Bass Strait Westerly at Bermagui rather than Eden.
cheers Frant

Took the northerly out on a Port gybe and carried the EAC about 40 miles out to sea from Bermagui. Gybed onto the layline for Gabo and entered Lakes Entrance just shy of 48 hrs from departing Sydney. Lakes Entrance can now be considered an all weather entry with a wide 5metre dredged entry. Still doubtful of Bermagui with 2.7 draft except maybe at top of tide in no swell conditions.

Hi Frant, I called in there 18 months ago and did an overnight at the Fisherman's Wharf. I'm sorry but I don't recall depths and there was only a small roll on at the time. Mawson draws 1.9M, I think we had heaps of water under us at the time. Keep to port along the inner stone groin, that's the deeper part of the channel I seem to remember. You could give the fisherman's coop a call to check things out - 02 6493 4575

Also an excerpt from their website: "With an easy entrance to the harbour vessels drawing up to 7 foot can easily enter the harbour on low tide". http://bermaguifishermenscoop.com.au/our-wharves/

Also, there are a couple of entries on the Zulu Waterways app for Bermagui. If you don't have it, grab it and have a look, and put in some info yourself once you've been there so that everyone's benefits from your experience.
