Hi everyone,
This is my first post, so please go easy on me :-). My wife is interested in buying a sailboat with me, but has no experience boating. I am looking for people in South East Queensland with all different types of boat to give her a genuine sailing experience.
The idea is that she can get an idea of which type of boat might suit her. We would be looking at going on a Saturday.
Anyone who is interested, please let me know how much it will cost us, and which weekend suits you best.
Thanks!
Your welcome to come for a sail on Thursday at Southport Yacht Club we leave around 3pm back at 6.30 pm. Social sailing inside the broadwater

How does this work? What fees are there if any? Is there a link I can check out? I haven't been sailing since I was a kid (90s) so really all I know about the whole scene is that I love doing it.
Happy to take you out on Moreton Bay one Saturday in my 10m yacht which is moored at Cleveland.
25kn wind forecasted for this Saturday so properly not a good idea for a first timer.
PM me if you want my contact details.
You and your wife are welcome to come for a social race this Saturday. Our boat is probably not the type of boat you will be looking at, but it will give you something to aspire to. The 25 knots forecasted will not bother us unless they call off the race. We sail out off Redcliffe where you would have to be by 12.30pm. The boat is a 57' Hanse. (Hanse 575) PM me with your phone number if you are interested and I will give you a call. There's no cost, just happy to get more people into this great sport / lifestyle.

There's no fees. You can check out the Southport Yacht Club's website. Its all very relaxed, no spinnakers and a handicap start.
Thank you to everyone for the amazing responses so far! I guess this is the yachtie hospitality you hear so much about . This just makes me even keener to get a boat.

That sounds great! We'll have to get ourselves organised and get down there.

Hi Jode.
Thank you so much for the offer. Unfortunately we won't be able to go out until at least February, but we would love to do it then if the offer still stands.
G'day Code,
Not that you need another one, but we sail out of Manly, and I have 3 weeks off, am happy to take you guys out anytime.
As mentioned, send a PM if this is of any help mate.

Once again, thank you to everybody who got in touch with us and replied to this post. Just as an update, after speaking to a few yachties, my wife has decided she would like to lose a little weight and increase her general fitness level before stepping on to a rolling deck.
She is still super excited about sailing and is blown away by the generous offers, but says this is something she would like to revisit in 6 months or so.
Thanks everyone!
