Does anyone have recent waypoints for the entrance to Yellowpatch (a few nm West of Cape Capricorn)? We were hoping to get in tomorrow, but it's over 6 years since I've been in there, and things have probably changed a bit!

I was there last year and I got the way points from the local sea rescue, was going in but the Parks people closed it for culling of goats, so next time!

It's now 2 years I went to YP, comparing Resc. waypoint to Garmin chart plotter , didn't see noticeable channel .
Bottom was very flat across wide entrance.
Channel inside is very nerrow and the current is seriously fast. U need good anchor, reset well, mine does not, let go extra length on slack w, wind push me to the sand bank. No drama my keel is 1 foot, centreboard in.

Thanks for the responses. I got some 2016 wpts from Google Maps (found the way to convert Maps points to Lat/Long), but in the end we decided not to go in as it's too exposed for the NW that's forecast tonight. Charriot, you're right that there's not much swinging room in some parts of the anchorage. You do need to make sure that your full scope in all directions is at adequate depth unless you're sure that conditions will keep you away from a sector. You could try a stern anchor but I don't use them - too much potential for things going wrong like a line around the prop.
