Adding a drain hole to handle well?

Does anyone else have mental problems with carrying half a kilo of water in the recessed handle well of your sup? Has anyone added a drain like the SIC Atlantis has? Would a simple backwards pointing pipe do?

Yes, me.

I was tempted to fill it with some foam I could pop out easily to use it, secured with some leash. Or with some velcro to store it on the leash cuff.

But I measured the exact amount of water to fill my FCS handle: 120ml = 120g, I guess less than 100g in real life due to the movements of the board. I decided it was not worth the trouble.

On the other hand, I am still tempted to remove the standard pad and replace it by hexatraction, and wax mat (for a bit more comfort) under the feet in the paddling position. I have not done it yet because of the cost, work to remove the pad, loss of resale value, and unavailability of the clear wax mat (I guess due to the covid crisis). Especially since I have so many boards :-)
