Just Purchased a 9'6 laird surfer and not being familiar with vented SUP's, is the vent on the surfer a goretex fit and forget or is it a screw out type that needs to be removed out of the water.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Don't touch it bro. Set and forget.

Or, if it is small and metallic, it is not vented.

- Goretex Vents should never be touched, only rinsed in clear water gently from time to time
- On the screw out type, each time you touch it you take a risk to damage the joint or forget to put it back. These risks is much greater than delamination. If you want o use it:
[1] buy lots of toric joints and and change it each time
[2] devise a system to not forget to put it back on: tape the screw on the deck, keep it half in but with tape on it, or through a business card, etc...
