I have a 2014 Starboard 8'0 pro BC which according to Starboard is 96 liters.
I forced myself to use this board in all conditions for a year but I want to get a board that is a little bit easier to balance on.
I am 84 kg, 1.87 long.
I also have a 2013 SB 8´5 pro BC 105 liter but that board is just to big once I´m on a wave....

Is the 2015/2016 pro 8´0 more stable than the 2014?

Starboard says it is 105 liter, where did they put this extra volume?

love the 2014 8 x 28 - great board but yeah can be harder for big guys at 96 litre - i'm 6'1 95kgs - the 2015/2016 8 x 28 version is a fair bit more stable - as good as the 2013/2014 8'5 x 29 - if not slightly better - the reduced width though helps it knife a bit better than the 2013/14 8'5 (which is still a great board too) and it does feel smaller underfoot / on the wave than the 8'5 - the extra volume is spread throughout the board - bit thicker at tail and nose than 8 x 28

I can get a 2016 Starboard Pro BC 8'0x28 105 liter, but it is expensive!!

I own a 2013 Starboard Pro BC 8'5 x 29 105 liter : Ok to balance on , feels to big once on a wave

And I also have a 2014 Starboard Pro BC 8'0 x 28 96 liter : nice on the wave but my 84 kg 60yo body gets tired too quick...

I borrowed a 2015 Starboard Pro BC 8'0 x29 111 liter : Enough stability but to me it seems to be a board for a 90+ kilo supper..

Is the 8'0x28 the right size for me?

in a word yes ! - get the 2015/16 8 x 28 -it is as stable if not more than the 2014 8'5 x 29 pro - but it also feels significantly smaller once on the wave than the 8'5 pro - it feels like a scaled down version of the 2014 8'5 x 29 but with no loss in stability and keeping that high performance of the 2014 8 x 28 and 8'5 x 29 - hope that helps

Love my 2014 8'0 96ltr. Also have the newer 7'7 at 95ltr but in the chop its quiet a workout even though they are pretty much the same vol.
Surfed my friends newer 8 x 28 and very stable.

I would agree with what you said Lp Maui about the boards - same experience I have had with them.
