Thanks for posting Skeeee
Beautiful waves, fluid surfing and love Tash's music. Still blows me away that she does that song solo with looping. Great vibe!
Bob
such a great clip ! waves so perfect ,well done ..umm we put a Tash song on Kaylans clip .they cut us off on youtube, just so you know
Amazing clip - those backhand turns at the first break are just incredible!
Love the angle the drone gives, really shows how heavy some of the breaks are.
Sooo good!!!
SUP surfing needs more and more inspiring videos like this. Let's Make Sup Surfing Great again ??
Wes is pushing it with his vertical turns. With is solid bottom turns and vert tops I recon he is up there almost at short board level.
I watched this after watching Kai in Kelly's wave pool and Wes, you win. Looking good.
That being said, what nice waves. Sheesh i recon id look good on em... haha
Must get there one day.
I must say since watching Wes on the hipster twin his riding has gone more vert and more short board style compared to what i find the norm of sup style surfing more drawn out bottom turns then a hack top turn slide out the tail then use the foam to get back up to speed n do it again.

Agree mate, the top/bottom combo is a killer on that clip.
Kudos for Wes on finding the rail like that and transitioning it so well, that sort of a turn on a solid wave would not be easy, lots of commitment.
One thing I have been trying is putting the paddle on the other side like he does, Im no Wes Fry but it really does open up the shoulders and can see how it helps.

you mean heel side on backhand? When i was serious on SUP and in decent waves like exmouth bombie, boat ramps, big yalls etc i mixed between the two. i found with paddle on heel side you can drive into the turn and open the upper body like surfing to get that top shoulder vert and body to follow. then the tricky bit tho, got to release the paddle and flick to other side of board (was ok on my 26' wid eboard but wider is hard) then drive and pivot the board in top turn. Felt bit shopping trolley. I recon my top turns were better with paddle on heel side. Need to rely on body weight sitting into the bottom turn and driving the heels then you can use body weight and paddle to throw forward and smash out the top turn pivoting off your forehand paddle bury which felt a bit less awkward and easier to do floaters or really hit the lip and get round.
