There's no right or wrong answer here... Just discuss!

I'll start;
I think The Sydney Northern Beaches has a great set-up. Lots of wave variety, caters to different swell sizes and directions.
Different places handle big South Swells, or Big North Swells, or Big East Swells, different place handle mid-small swells out of all of those directions... On this basis, I rate Sydney Northern Beaches very highly. Great scenery, great set of headlands...

QLD Gold Coast, great, awesome waves, warmer waters, sweet as! ... But South swells are not overly well catered for.... Warm water is heaven on a stick! That was a title to a Celibate Rifles Album!

WA, Margaret's area, in my opinion, can be fickle, and the high quality surf hours per year is lower than other regions in this country.

Vic Surf Coast, can also be fickle. Many more hours of Higher Quality Waves v's Northern Beaches, but we don't quite have the variability here. Still great waves overall... On average, we have big waves faces to tear up, but on average, Sydney tops us on Tube Time! ...

Ok... Go... Your thoughts!

Unless it is mid week and middle of the day I give the points a miss on the Goldy, while the waves may be good the crowd factor certainly detracts from enjoyment. Northern NSW has some magic spots. Not much experience anywhere else.

After 37 years on the surf coast vic,I moved to the Byron /Broken Head / Lennox Head region of NSW,for the last 11 years,and I have come to the conclusion that surf coast wins hands down.Maybe it's an ageing thing,came up here to be near family,grand kids ect ,and the warm water is definitely a big factor now !the most obvious difference for me is with Vicco the storms would pass quickly,a couple of days off and back out there,up here the bad weather can last for weeks on end,and the only surfable breaks are crazy crowed,with very few options,where as vic there were heaps more options for **** weather,yeah it's an ageing thing,definitely love the warm water,but miss the surf coast of the 70's

Well it's definitely not the Sunshine coast though with the hordes flocking here and choking up the ocean you'd think it is.
