When the lovely bloke from BoardRun finds and old classic and then finds its owner.....
See:
www.facebook.com/boardrun/

And: www.newcastleherald.com.au/story/4485270/an-85-year-old-mans-love-for-an-old-paddle-board/

"A recent Gumtree purchase of a 16ft Toothpick unearthed quite a story. The board with the name John Martine painted on the deck was in beautiful condition. A quick google search and up pops a story of a mans search for his old board (see link). After reading the story it was a no brainer to contact John. Finding his name in the White Pages (old school) I gave him a call. To say he was happy was an understatement! After an extended chat about the board and its great history I let him know that it was time for it to come back to him.
Anyway with the help of his son and daughter the board was reunited with him last week. It was a pleasure to meet him in person and to see him light up like a teenager with a new board was priceless!
A couple of snippets he gave me when dropping off.
The board was made in the Nrth Bondi area in 1952.
Used in SLSC comps and for standup surfing.
John was pipped at the line in the Australian SLSC titles in 52 on this board.
see links in comment sections. A true waterman!!"

Cheers SMH. BoardRun is worth following on Facebook, just for the board pics he posts. Plus, he's great on board freight (even big ones like ours ) between Sydney and the Sunny Coast.

Very cool story...now if someone could return the Blue gelled twinnie Bennet I ripped the fins off to fix a Murry Smith thruster about 1987 & left for rubbish pickup out front of 21 Charles Riley Road I'd really appreciate it

Now if someone could just find the lost forum members and return them home to the Green Room.

I have reason to believe that they were spotted having a Latte or two at Coolly over the weekend.

My information is that they are planning a bulk return to the Green Room and that no nonsense will be tolerated by interlopers from outside realms.

Pffft I'll be happy to see their return. They just need to learn to not get their panties in a knot over trivial sh1t & that the greenroom is an inclusive place for everyone. Not a select few from some perceived inside realm. Besides 1/2 of it they were fighting amongst themselves before the dummies were spat
