No..... not talking about hair ...Need some advice from the learned ones of Seabreeze.
Having a taken an opportunity in Newcastle I find myself most likely living part time around Readhead beach NSW.
Any tips on the surf. My only reason for asking, was a comment from someone (who does not live there) that it can be really really really agro and local.
Cheers

I don't surf there but I haven't heard anything about aggro. Redhead has a plenty of breaks. It's the north end of Nine Mile beach. There are several creeks along it which form good sandbars, and spread the crowd out. Need a fourby to access some of these. You have plenty of other options as well. Redhead is only 10 minutes away from the Merewether Cooks Hill stretch, which always has a variety of breaks as well. Blacksmiths, Hams are only 10 minutes south, and Catho is only about 15 minutes south. Heaps of choice. Ignore aggro. They don't deserve the attention.

Im a pretty ordinary surfer, as until i moved to the Newcastle area for work 6yrs ago, having spent at the time, most of my 42yrs (nearly 48 now) living in the tablelands 3hrs from the coast, i'd could never imagined i'd be suffering from this insatiable addiction called surfing. I surf Redhead of late a fair bit, as well as Nobbys, Newcastle beach, Bar to Merewether, and a few other spots on this part of the coast, as well as having spent alot of time at Catho, because i lived close to their when i first moved to the coast,. And in the time i've been surfing up here, i cant say i've really experienced any real agro. I do my best to keep out of the way most the time, but the odd occassion you end up in the wrong spot at the wrong time, a quick "sorry mate" is usually greeted with a no worries. Ive found most of the surfers, just like most of the people of Newcastle are pretty cruisy.
