To tell you the truth staying on Nias is a pain in the ass. The wave is sick but the locals aren't exactly welcoming
I remember leaving and the local surfers who have hassled the piss out of you in the lineup the entire stay demanded a gift before leaving.
And then finding later that a few things had been stolen from your bag.
Probably spent about two years collectively in Indo and Nias is definitely different.
But I guess like a lot of surf spots in the developing world Nias is the epitome of a surf ghetto
Nias was magic 15 years ago but still the same as it is probably now. We stayed at a home stay but can't remember the name of the place. It was crowded than and I have not been back. Would like too but without the people even then the locals were a mafia
