Hello my windsurfers friends! You probably know my love for windskating, it's so good for windsurfing. Well, I had a project to do a video about the informations you need to know to choose a board to do some windskate. It's was on my mind since last summer. It bring me into a bigger work than I was expecting : ) But, today I am happy to say it's done! It's on-line for all.
If it could help you! Great!
Cheers!!
Thinking about what to do when the sea freezes over here in a month , how about attaching ice skate blades instead of wheels to that? Would I need a longer/bigger board? The only rig I have which I wouldn't be to upset if I killed it is a battered 8.6O, to much sail?
I did try once to put some blade to one skate like my freestyle version. You need some super smooth surface of ice. It's rare those conditions. IF it's not like a hockey ice, it's not so good. The board have to be long to have a good grip on the ice. You don't want to spin out to easy. I do prefer to use some skis on ice, with sharp edges. : )
Fantastic thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. I have been hesitating up until now but can't wait to get started now that i know what i need.
Nice!! : ) Have fun my friend!!
For the ski question, turning with skis, with a windski is not a easy move as you could do with a windskate but it's fun. You could like a normal jibe or do like a air jibe, jumping they other side. This is not so hard. You could have some exemples on my windski videos such as this one! Have fun!
