Want to get a 6.6 S pace but don't really want the added expense of a mast to go with it.
The luff on this sail is 462 Max so I'm assuming medium setting is 461 which we all know is not ideal for a 460 mast. Power xt extension goes right down to 2cm which makes it doable but duotone specs says best 430, alternate 460. So my question is, will the 460 be crappy because of the different IMCS ?

What do you mean by: "which we all know is not ideal for a 460 mast." ?
I would say try your existing masts first before purchasing a new mast (I think this is a reasonable thing to do). I assume you have not got a 460 mast at the moment ?, only a 430 ?. You never know, you might be lucky with your existing 430 masts. Some of my sails I run an extender with a shorter mast, as the recommended mast (even the matched for matched manufacturer's recommended branded mast) results in an unstable rig. Get your local sailors to check your rigging, and share their opinions. Ask if you can rig their masts in your sail as well to see if there is a good match. Sometimes you have to hoik the rigging guide out of the window anyway.

What I meant was most mast extensions only go down to +6cm so with a 460 mast you would be only able to achieve 466 minimum measurement. But the power xt can go down to +2 so I can do it with a 460 which I do have a north 460. I was just wondering would that be OK because 430 and 460 have different IMS Ratings. I guess I'll just try it with that and see if it's ok.
I won't be to worried as Duo said it works fine with the 460 .thinking of buying one myself
Yes gonna get a 6.6 for 20kt + sail. Still can't crack the 30kt barrier after 22 years windsurfing, only use cheetahs, you think their too unstable at high speed and I need cammed sail for this?
Have a 6.6 and 6.0 S-pace, run both on the Platinum 430 masts.
i am 75kg and like the softer feel in strong gusty conditions.
I found the 460 mast to stiff for my weight.
use the 6.6 and 6.0 on a Jag 94 ltr and 30-32 carbon fins.
Great combo for me.
I wouldn't say unstable as Ive had 33,5 knots on my 6,0 cheetah quite a few times but the lion is a quicker 6,0 got one of those too ,but they do de power quick as they are a free ride sail but still a great sail in rough water ,
But a 3 cam sail will have more top end and constant speed ,as to when you see a gust you are already flying and grab that gust and head down wind ,it will also have the belly to accommodate the extra wind catch to get a better speed .Don't forget let the sail out a bit when you head down wind .
Its a great size for wanting to bust the 30 knot barrier I hope you get your 30 + knots ,
mob dog: The 6.6 S-pace is on the border between two mast sizes. So like a said above.
Tardy: My Cheetah 5.5 was one of my best ocean freeride sails. I was a mug to sell it . I'm thinking of buying another.

To true Jn1 ,it's a great open ocean sail ,you need that give in the sail for jumping and quick dumping off of power for swell riding but still need some speed ,I usually use a 7.0 and 6.0 ,98 kgs it's always a handy sail to have in the quiver .no matter what size .easy to use nice smooth on off power .very predictable sail

Totally agree. The cheetah is great for hard blasting in rough open water. Gybe beautifully too.

I am running my 6.6 S Pace on a Duotone Platinum 460cm mast, and it makes a sweet combination. My extension does not go smaller than 4cm, which does not make an issue.
