Good morning all,
New here, first post. Trying to get back into sailing after 20 years and really looking forward to it. Bought this used Starboard Carve 99 (258 x 60) and boom from someone in Melbourne and need to get it to the Sunshine Coast. Any advice, suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

EGO , about the cheapest , used them heaps of times , never a problem ( yet !)
There seems to be horror stories from all the carriers .
My tip , wrap with plenty of padding and then some more and then cardboard on the outside . Its worth slinging the seller an extra $20 for heaps of padding.
Write your name address and ph no on package with big fat texta.
Take detailed pics of the board before wrapping and also after wrapping .

+1 for Ego. Book on line and make sure you get the measurements around the right way, makes a difference in the pricing. ( Get the seller to advise measurement and both of you get a quote first and compare ).
Also Depot to Depot if you can, the less handling the better.
(PS There is numerous threads on this site re freight, just Google "freight Seabreeze " )
Ego is usually cheapest n does the job ok. Also check Interparcel used them a few times with no dramas.
I posted last time when this question was brought up, praising e-go.
However, since then I used them (parcel was sent to me) and it was a complete disaster.
Sail took one month to arrive,
I (as the receiver) was made to pay for the stuff-up or they wouldn't release the parcel.
No-one told me what was going on.
I was told one story by one person, then something completely different by another, while the parcel was sitting in the wrong depot for three weeks.
When I contacted e-go about the problem no-one followed up on it.
e-go's service was appalling.
I would consider all other options before I used e-go again.

Thank you all for your advice, I'll get a quote from ego and transdirect and see how I go.
cheers.
