Working bee, hmmm that would be about 60 triples with tankers on a continuous run, or a bloody good fleet of 675g's scrapers, making a new trench from inland up near Darwin down to your pond

Remember Miss Bud and Solo speed boats flogging up and down on that waterway years back.

I remember Miss Bud and Solo, the 2 rolls royce merlin powered hydros
at the Derinal pool. back then the crowd on the bank on the south turn were getting wet from Miss Buds roost.
She had to go wide because this little upstart 21' Everingham hull
called 'The Happy Hooker' kept pinching the inside running.

Miss Bud only just poked in front on the finish line on every lap of the Griffiths cup final. Never since have I felt the shear energy of 110% of the crowd willing Happy Hooker that extra 20feet.

1st. Miss bud
2nd. Happy Hooker
3rd. Solo

Ral Inn maaaattte you sure have a good memory, that's just how it was. pinching the inside run was very clever and showed that the jockey knew his gear inside and out

Wonder if it will ever get enough water back in it to see something like that again.

Ok then, it seems no-one wants to be on the Eppalock team.

So I'll have to sell my services to the highest bidder.

I'm only using a stock fin on my Missile2, so can only do 38's.

It's OK, you can hurt my feelings and tell me I'm too slow.
just not to my face.

PS: about the G cup, i maybe confused about the names of the boats,
it may have been Solo that won, and Stampede 3rd, but I know the 3rd place boat had it's cockpit to the side and up front.

MORE Team members needed. You don,t have to just sail at Sandy point. You can compete from any spot you like , we just have to sail on the same day for it to count. Got to be in it to win it...

I have an idea, why doesn't Victoria have multiple teams -> the "Dream teams"... We could have:

Team A:
- Mal, Tony, Andrew, Ian, Spotty : with an average of about 44 knots

Team B:
- Hollins, Shelby, Ed, McDougall, Stuart Eustice : average of about 40

Team C:
- Mat, Tom, Peter Hands, Cam, Barry Scouller : average of about 38

Lets cleanup...!

I like it Matt. Mal declined "Not fit enough" he said. What speed would a fit Mal get? I was hoping the Geelong crew would have a go. Maybe worn out from the last comps.A few more bodies would be good

We'll be right Craig, you will just have to sail every windy day of winter so we can alternate who is going to get out on the same days.
Just picked up my new v7 so I am keen as for a sou wester and having a bit of a dice at this alpha sounds like fun too. With Daffy doing over 19 knots in the slowest point in his gybe, who's going to be the first to 20?

I'd say that most of the locals dont frequent this forum - we may need to contact them directly.

That's OK, my average of 37.8kts does need some improvement. I'll just go and practice by myself

Tony, your ranking in GPSSS is currently about 32 knots - 37 would just about put you in team C...

oops my bad, I cant read. I confused Tony Menz with Tony Lorenz... In any case, if you have been pushing 38's, you should post to GPSSS and become part of the Aussie contingent.

cheers,
Mathew
