This probably sounds stupid, but I wonder if the wind forecast on Seabreeze includes the actual seabreeze effect? Considering the name, I would expect so, but you never know!

I was thinking specifically about Tuesday / Wednesday next week - is it really going to be blowing from the East, or is there a local effect that changes the direction? I will be staying in Mullaloo, if that is helpful to anyone.

These questions are important for me as I am only in Perth for a couple of weeks and have to hire gear. It would of course, be best to hire when there is a good seabreeze happening.

Thanks from a rusty ex-pat!

Hi Matt. I think from looking at the forecast for next Tuesday there is no sea breeze forecast or it would be showing a south westerly for the afternoon that day. It looks rather unsettled for Tuesday actually. Saturday is looking much better for a sea breeze.
Good luck.

Too bad that I am arriving on Sunday! I noticed that it is looking similarly easterly for Sunday and Monday, although tending more SE. Are there good places to sail in a southeaster?

hey matt, the 6/7 day outlook can change.

e.g. at the start of the week saturday was ON, yesterday it was all Easts and now it's back to Souths... the daily / next day forecasts lot more accurate, so if your hiring stuff probably best to go on the short rather than long term forecasts....

p.s... mullaloo / (oceanreef) gets the best winds for perth metro

Thanks Windy.

You ease my mind somewhat. I am only in town a couple of weeks, so I am a bit edgy about hiring gear and then not being able to use it. Sounds like I had some luck with my choice of accommodation!
