I didn't want to keep hi-jacking the "old gear" thread, but I reckon we could have a whole thread just bitchin' about e-bay. 2 good points raised allready on that thread.
I'm spewin' I didn't get a bid on that old wayler ypsi going recently, the starting bid was only $1000!
And freighting stuff is easy, takes bugger all effort, will increase chance of a sale, and is appreciated by the buyer. I just sold a kayak, and gave quotes for freight to various places, eventually selling it to Vic. There was exactly the same kayak for sale, but the seller didn't want to freight, and they didn't get one bid.

Yeah I don't get it. One board I wanted to buy, I offered to pay post plus $20 for the guy's effort and he wouldn't go for it. I told him to get a board box and all the packing (free!!) from a WS shop and a $5 roll of tape and he stil would not do it.

I get a bit sus when they (1) don't describe the board well (2) don't answer q's like they actually windsurf (even though they claim they do) and (3) won't pack it cos they "don't know how". Sounds hot to me

Ebay may score you a bargain, but I cant help but feel suspicious of sellers sometimes, as you have stated. I would much rather, build a relationship with a shop, eventually you get a good deal, make friends, trade, trust and get warranties....none of that on Ebay!

I hope my local shop is reading this, cause I need a new board!
