Hello windsurfers,

I am thinking on going on a trip to cherating beach in Malaysia. Did anyone go there ? Would it be good to windsurf there in November.

I am going with my girlfriend who is learning how to waterstart, so I'd rather have some flat water and some good winds.

Any thoughts ?

Regards
Olivier

have competed in comps in Kuantan back in the day

it can get windy in the monsoon - but you may be too early for that

Can be some good surf - soft waves - maybe great for an sup

i'd say chances are

you wont score though - go in jan - march and there will be some wind

This was Cherating Beach in Sep 2005 when overnighted there

The "resort" that I stayed in had some pre historic looking windsurfing gear for rent, it was all unidentifiable plastic stuff with centerboards. But there was no wind. The club Med which is on the other side of the point had some gear as well and a few cats for hire

I may be going back through there for in October this year so will let you know what octobers weather is like

This cabin cost me $20 for a night and was on the beachfront. There are a few great restraunts on the street behind where I stayed all cheap with some of the best asian food I have had ever all of which washed down well with a few longnecks of Tiger which cost not very much at all.

Thanks guys.
It does look good, but I am afraid it will rather rainy than windy.
The link below shows the stats for nov 2010.

I should probably pick another date...
