The weekend is almost upon us again and the fantastic winter weather just keeps coming :)

Our newest recruit Sam is returning on Saturday for lesson #2. If he continues to improve like he did in just a couple of hours last Saturday he's going to be sailing on his own in no time.

We'll be starting his lesson at 11am on the waterfront side of the carpark on the southern side of Gosford Sailing Club. Come down and join us and see how easy it is to learn to windsurf.

Lyndon, Pete and I will be also going for a sail in the afternoon and probably a few short races, so anyone that wishes to join us is also welcome, any board, any sail and any ability.

See you there.
John

What a cracking winters day to be out on the water, which started with giving our newest member to the windsurfing community (Sam) his second lesson, which lasted a couple of hours.

He continued with his great form from his first lesson and is without doubt the only person I've taught to windsurf in over 30 years that has not had a fall in his first two lessons! Furthermore, he's tacking and gybing to port and starboard and sailing on both tacks. Just a little more familiarity and he'll be sailing completely on his own. Here's a few pics of him on lesson #2 yesterday.

Thanks to Lyndon for the loan of the Naish beginner board and 5m soft sail.

Yesterday say the launch of Lyndon's new BIC Techno One Design 8.5m rig, complete with the MITO Logo's.

For those of you that don't know, Lyndon is doing a Whitsunday Island hop windsurfing adventure later this year and is using this to gather charity donations and provide exposure for research for MITO (mitochondrial disease).

For more information about mitochondrial disease please refer to the following link.

If you would like to donate to Lydnon's Charity, you can contact him here on Seabreeze, his user ID is Heavy1.

Here's a couple of pictures of the board and Rig Lyndon will be using for his Island hop adventure.

This is the link to my charity site.
I'd really appreciate any small donation you can manage, or distribution would help too. eg even one or two dollars is fantastic.
Its a cause thats close to me.
I also hate the idea of all those people out there that potentially have very real problems that are otherwise viewed as unlucky or crazy or lazy by the majority of the medical community.

However just beware that Kolling institute are likely to keep asking for more once they have your details so tick all the right boxes or don't give your details. (it is tax deductible but you need a receipt )

Good morning all,

Saturday is fast approaching yet again and the weather forecasters are predicting yet another cracking 19C blue sky winters day with light breeze.

This week be perfect conditions for our newest recruit Sam who is keen as mustard and is returning on Saturday for lesson #3. If he continues to improve like he did in just a couple of hours the
last two Saturday's he's going to be sailing on his own in no time.

We'll be starting his lesson between 11am and 11:30am on the waterfront side of the carpark on the southern side of Gosford Sailing Club. Come down and join us and see how easy it is to learn to windsurf. Sam is killing it!

Lyndon, Pete and I will be going for a sail in the afternoon and probably a few short races, so anyone that wishes to join us is also welcome, any board, any sail and any ability.

See you there.

What a spectacular winters day in Gosford!!! Clear blue skies and 20C, just very little wind :(

Sam got out for about an hour though and still no falls after 3 lessons. He's seriously killing it!. Here's a few more pics of him in action, and a few of Lyndon and Pet who got out for a muck around.

This Saturday 10th August we will not be sailing from the Club at Gosford. Given the forecast it will be too windy for beginner lessons. I may head up to Budgewoi if the forecast holds true, or if it's a little lighter may foil from either Green Point or Saratoga SC. We will be back in businesses on Sat 17th August and will post next week with details
