Just wondering if anyone's sailed this spot in a NEr? Not sure how the dredging to replace sand at Wanda over the years has affected the sand bank, but it looks promising and would be perfect in a NEr. It measures around 1.2klms. I've surfed out near Bundeena a couple of times know there can be a lot of current through the area and it's very much tidal effected.
Looks pretty nice though doesn't it?
Many years ago Nigel some of us Cockies looked at this spot but nothing ever came of it. Very specific conditions needed plus a few obstacles put it on the back burner. Now that so many easier and better spots have been discovered it got lost. Try it and let us know how you go.

Yeh, Larko, I figured the problem would be getting all the elements coming together... just like surfing Bundeena, it's super fickle and can be a long drive that rarely pays off when so many other good spots are working.
Burraneer Point blocks the wind at the eastern end of Simpon's Bay. Then, South Cronulla peninsular blocks a bit of the NEr further south on your yellow line. Give or take, west of a line from Hungry Point to the Bundeena Ferry wharf the seabreeze fades pretty quickly. In a NEr, east of that line is usually 3-5 knots lighter than Wanda and always much more east in it. You pretty much always get a wind swell there in a NEr by the afternoon. Launch at either Darook Park or at Salmon Haul just under Bass and Flinder's Point. Salmon Haul is a bugger of a spot to do so and you have to swim out about 50 metres, but you avoid the Hungry Point shadow.
