Due to popular demand, NOR item 5.5 will be amended to allow a maximum of 3 sails.
I don't even have one for the moment...
Went and did laps on the lake on the Raceboard yesterday. Always seems to be a bit more wind right up in the teewah top north east pocket on a easterly. Was 14 in the gusts. Nice conditions. Lake must be 30 plus water temp. Few out from elanda point putting around learning.
Bit over a month to go to nationals.
Where the rest of the Raceboard sailors over Xmas?
Where are the race board sailors?
We were on the beach at Elanda watching your impressive performance - nice pumping - snappy gybes
Cheers Jeff
Ps hoping to see your dads caravan but expect the crowds have kept him away
The organisers have added another class to the 2015 Oceanics. The Hybrid board class.
Hybrid boards have a maximum length of 310cm and, for the Oceanics, a maximum sail size of 7.8m.
This will allow Technos and RSX (with a 7.8 rig) to compete.

This link goes to the Raceboard website and has a list of eligible boards.
There is a shiny brand new 2014 Phantom 377 on display at Surf FX if anyone feels they deserve a Christmas present for themselves.
Is it hard - this long board racing and would that long tail classify as a beginner. Plus is there any prizes for last place....
UPdate - just had a look at the specks for the Rio Long tail - too long 333 it says on the site. Disregard what I said - maybe next year.
We could organise a board for you morgan but your rsx is eligible as both a raceboard and a hybrid.
We have a spare techno for Jaye if interested as well
Plan is to have a shorter course for hybrids so everyone finishes close to each other.
I'm getting out to Lake Cootharaba tomorrow, will be a long day on the water. its my 2nd sail this summer not very sailing fit right now....
If anyone is keen, I'm dusting off the longboard at Lake Cootharabar tomorrow mon 29th, there should be a bit of wind.
from 12 noon
Zane and Bryn looked fast along the back of the lake yesterday - neck a neck!
We were watching from the shore thinking not enough wind to go out, NE strength is deceptive from Elanda
Went out and had some longboard fun with my mates, practicing upwind to the channel marker. Not quite ready for this years championships ????. Practicing for another year maybe 2020
Had a chat with Bryn in the middle.
A pleasant afternoon on the water
Cheers Jeff
Great sail on the lake yesterday, will be getting on the water when ever I can. great seeing some board and boats on the lake.
my top speed was 24 knots off the wind. fun sail for a light wind day...
Hi Cammd, Zane, Leo and myself at the lake doing turns and burns if you can get up here?
Secret training
Two good days of secret training with Simon and Dave. I feel reasonably competitive upwind but my downwind is horrendous.
Question. Mast track position with the phantom. When powered up and planing and the mast track is at the back its good speed downwind but what about in marginal conditions. When its fully back i feel like the back is digging in when it drops off the plane. Is it better to have it half way back to avoid digging in the tail even though the planing speed is slower when the gusts come through
It is better to keep the nose down when not planing. You can move the mast forward and/or move your feet forward.
what tony siad but the trade off and decision i find in these conditions is whether to havethe mast track forward and hold you line to the marker on a broach reach or trim up into a reach, pump onto the plane, mast track back then bear away back into a broach reach.

Just spoke to RQ and advised them about having a practice session for the upcoming regatta, no problems for getting in if your not a member. I will stop by reception on the way in and confirm they are aware of the plan.

Nice Work
Hey guys,
I remember seeing something a while ago about lending your gear (particularly board) to competitors but can't seem to find it in the forums to check.
Can anyone let me know about this? I would probably be ok for someone to use my board if that's the case?
