Guys, I'm juggling the idea of either getting 2016 Quatro Cube 95L or Quatro Sphere 95L. Any experience with these? Which one would plain faster? What's the winner for bump-jump? Jumping etc.. consideding I can use Sphere with a single fin. Which one would you get for pure bump-jump?
I've used both the 2016 95 L Sphere and the 2016 95 L Cube, but only in a wave environment. For early planing and ability to pump onto a wave the Cube is better. For keeping up speed in cross onshore conditions the Cube is better. For cross shore to cross off they both work well, though if it's more of an open shoulder laid back carving kind of wave then the thruster set up on the Sphere is definitely the Rolls Royce option. The Cube is is more of a Subaru rally car kind of ride - it will take you into places on a wave you didn't think you could get to. The more skilled you are the more you'll get out of it. Whereas I describe the Sphere as a great wave board if you are coming from a FSW background and want to ride waves better than you can on a FSW.
If I had to guess I'd say Sphere for bump and jump.
How is the ride on 2016 Cube in general? Is it more mellow and soft or more energetic and nervous? How does it feel in chop and when going in straight line and upwind?
